Tennis for life. Live it.
Love it.
What's special about Alexander Park Tennis
Club ?
We are 77 years old and along the way have accumulated an intangible asset called 'tradition'. This does not happen overnight and is built up from many years of on and off court success. There is something about our club that when you step on the courts you feel a sense of being part of the great history of the club and the great players who have graced the grass beneath your feet.
On a more tangible note, our location has to be one of our major attractions. We are located in the leafy suburb of Menora, only about eight kilometers from the centre of Perth, in a quiet, garden setting amid beautiful trees and parkland. Surrounding residences are large, traditional style homes with spacious gardens and the appearance of a wealthy bygone era that is being replaced with a young vibrant community.
We have twenty-two superb grass courts that with the help of our excellent ground staff we assiduously keep in top condition. Remarks from visiting interstate and overseas players are testament to the quality of the grass court-playing surface we provide for our members.
We invite you to find out more about our club and you are most welcome to come and visit us.

REGIONAL TENNIS CENTRE STATUS FOR APTC
Alexander Park Tennis Club
has been selected by Tennis West and Tennis Australia as one of five
Regional Tennis Centres in the Perth metropolitan area. This is a very
significant achievement for the future development of the club and the
sport of tennis.
In 2006 Tennis Australia
conducted a national tennis facility survey to get a better
understanding of existing tennis club facilities in Australia from
which a firm direction and decisive development strategy could be
established. Alexander Park participated in the survey.A number of
changes and needs for modern tennis facilities were identified
resulting in Tennis Australia producing its Tennis 2020 facility
development and management framework for Australian Tennis as a blueprint for developing
sustainable and vibrant clubs into the next decade.
An integral part of the
Tennis 2020 strategy is the establishment of a hierarchy of tennis
facilities in Australia that are considered to be well placed for
further development as models or demonstration sites for other clubs
to follow.
At the top of the
hierarchy are the national tennis centres in each state such as our
State Tennis Centre at Burswood, followed by 50 Regional Tennis
Centres throughout Australia - 5 in each capital city. Our selection
as one of these Regional Tennis Centre is a meritorious achievement
and an acknowledgement of the fine facility we have developed over the
years.The benefits to the club
include priority access to Tennis Australia funding and other non
financial assistance. Our joint responsibilities with Tennis Australia
through Tennis West are embodied in a Memorandum of Understanding
which in turn is reflected in our club’s business plan. We already
comply in many areas but there is still much to be achieved.
As part of our commitment
we will be undertaking further initiatives including developing our
facilities and infrastructure, providing attractive tennis programs
for existing and new members, fostering junior and senior player
development and bolstering coaching and administration activities.
Exciting times lie ahead!
